Misty Waters First Artist Announcement -2025

It took us a little longer than we had hoped, but man oh man we made it! Misty Waters Music Festival 2025 planning is underway and we’re getting ready to rock like the good old days. We’re talking Mick Mars guitar smashing, Hendrix Hey Joe teeth solo, Jim Morrison lizard people pandemonium rock and roll.  We say this each year and we’ll say it again, we don’t think you’re ready for this weekend. When is this weekend you may ask, well it’s the finest time of year, you know when the days are toasty and warm, and the evenings misty and mysterious. It’s the one and only, 25 April to 27 April.

What makes this weekend even more perfect is the public holiday we have on the Monday, April 28th. That means you can fully immerge into the Lake Umuzi culture and stay until the very last guitar strum of the final band on the Sunday evening. Let’s talk bands. We’ve released our first artist announcement and it’s a goodie.

Prime Circle

Yes, they are Misty Waters’s virgins and ready to lose that title in the most epic way! Recognised as rock icons in South Africa, Prime Circle has garnered numerous accolades, including multiple South African Music Awards (SAMAs). Prime Circle has made substantial strides in the UK and European music scenes, with intensive gigging, radio play, and headline performances at major rock festivals. You read that right…major rock festivals.

Arno Carstens & Albert Frost

We hope you know how rare this occasion is. Musical geniuses Arno and Albert don’t perform together very often. This duo alone makes getting that ticket worth every cent.

Hellcats

The crazy cats are back after many years away from the Misty stage. We’re extra excited for this duo to rock us into another paradigm. Their last Misty Waters performance was in 2022 and we’ve dreamt of having them back ever since. Guess dreams do come true.

Ann Jangle

Get ready for a journey of Opera chants and storytelling with a twist. After witnessing her presence on our stage last year, we knew we had to have Ann perform at Misty Waters again. With her deep roots in dark folk and desert blues she perfectly blends in with our ultimate music genre.

Defy Theory

The band that defy’s music genres. Their sound simply cannot be placed under one genre but rather experiments with a mix of alternative, melodic, and rap rock. If you like Muse and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, you’re going to love this show!

Lefokolodi

So what is lefokolodi? According to Google translate (which we should never use for linguistics), it’s translated to weakness in English. Now, we know why Google cannot be trusted, because if you listen to Lefokolodi the last thing you think, feel or see is weakness. Lerato, the vocalist of the band, reveals, ‘Lefokolodi is a millipede in Sotho. Ah, enlightened. Now, get your duisendpote in order, buy that Misty Waters ticket and let’s welcome this rebellious group to the Misty stage for the first time!

Betty’s Nuklear

Betty’s Nuklear is one of those bands you listen to and after only a few seconds you know, this is one we have to have on our stage. Their music range is incredible and you can expect anything from progressive metal to a touch of jazz. We’re enraptured to have this desert rock band all the way from the beautiful Garden Route perform on the Misty stage for the first time.

Monkeys

The boys are back and quite possibly for their last show. So quit monkey-ing around and get that Misty Waters ticket. This band knows how to get a party started and keep the jol alive. They’ve shared stages with many musical legends including François Van Coke, Piet Botha and Jackhammer, Gerald Clark, Matthew Mole, Jack Parow, Albert Frost and the legendary Mango Groove and many more.

Sarah Jade

It’s her first time performing at Misty Waters and we’re very excited for Sarah Jade to grace our stage with her sweet harmonic approach to music. She’s been singing since she was 13 years old, she’s also the vocalist at Fourth Son South and we’re very curious to see what colour hair she’ll have when performing at Misty Waters. Hopefully purple to match with Nessie.

There you have it folks! It’s a good mix of blues, rock, nostalgia, femme power and monkey business. Just the way we like it! Stick around, because we are releasing our THIRD artist announcement soon! Our second announcement has been released if you haven’t seen it yet. Check out our social media pages and/or website for more information!
